Researcher Jonathan Licht at University of Florida Health, led a study and identified how a specific mutation in the NSD2 gene (E1099K) contributes to relapse in childhood acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). This mutation alters histone methylation patterns, making cancer cells more aggressive, resistant to cell death, and more likely to invade the brain. These findings highlight key biological pathways influenced by this mutation, paving the way for potential new treatments targeting NSD2-driven leukemia.
We are proud to partner with University Of Florida and some truly amazing and talented individuals to make these research trials possible. We invite you to explore in this page all the incredible groundbreaking research funded by the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative that will help to make pediatric cancer a treatable and curable disease.
