Acute Lymphoid Leukemia (ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer affecting families worldwide. Roughly, 20% of children fighting ALL experience a relapse. Mutations of the cancer often are the cause of these relapses. One mutation specifically, NSD2, alters the histones in DNA causing genetic abnormalities, making treatment for ALL much more complicated. The objective of the study is to analyze NSD2 and its effect on Leukemia cell life and resistance of these to Leukemia treatment.
The Live Like Bella Initiative has given us the ability to investigate a new lead in the quest to completely eradicate Leukemia.
