Researcher Matthew D. Hall, MD, at Miami Cancer Institute led a study examining the long-term effects of radiation therapy on brain development in children with central nervous system tumors. Even small doses of radiation can cause significant changes in brain morphology, volume, endocrine function, and neurocognitive abilities. By identifying these effects, this research aims to develop new techniques to minimize risks and improve the quality of life for pediatric cancer survivors.
We are proud to partner with Miami Cancer Institute and some truly amazing and talented individuals to make these research trials possible. We invite you to explore this page to learn about all the incredible, groundbreaking research funded by the Live Like Bella® Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative that will help make pediatric cancer a treatable and curable disease.
