Cancer doesn't wait, neither can we...

While some kids are picking out backpacks and planning their first day of school, others are heading to the hospital.

This back-to-school season reminds us: not every child is preparing for the classroom – some are preparing for cancer treatment. While their peers look forward to new teachers and fresh notebooks, they’re hoping for one thing only – to feel well enough to learn again

With your support, we can help rewrite what a first day looks like.

Your gift helps fund much-needed financial assistance, cutting-edge research, and vital support for families impacted by childhood cancer.

Together, we’re working toward a world where no child has to trade school supplies for hospital stays – and where every child can look forward to a first day full of promise, not pain.

How Live Like Bella supports families

The Live Like Bella Foundation helps with mortgage/rent payments, medical co-pays, medications, utilities, transportation costs, groceries, and numerous other unexpected expenses.

As of 2024, the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative created by the Florida Legislature has provided $37,000,000 in grants for 66 pediatric cancer research trials at 10 renowned institutions across the state.

In the unfortunate circumstance that a child with cancer passes, Live Like Bella assists with the costs of memorial services including burials, headstones, funerals, etc.

The families you help

On November 27, 2024, 9-year-old Gianna Volland’s life changed in an instant when she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma – a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer.

What began as knee pain was initially dismissed as growing pains or a minor sports injury. But as the pain worsened and doctor visits provided no clear answers, Gianna’s mother pushed for more testing. An X-ray led to an ER visit, followed by an MRI – and then the words no parent ever wants to hear: “Your daughter has cancer.” Within days, Gianna was thrown into a whirlwind of treatments and surgeries, far more than her family could have ever imagined.

Thanks to your support, we’re able to show up in those unimaginable moments. Since her diagnosis, Live Like Bella has helped Gianna’s family by covering essential transportation costs – including monthly car payments and insurance – ensuring she can get to and from her life-saving treatments.

At just 8-years-old, Logan Jenner has already battled leukemia twice – diagnosed first at age three, and again at five. After his relapse, doctors told his family there were no remaining treatment options. Their final hope: a clinical trial funded by the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative.

That trial saved his life.

Today, Logan has turned the page to a cancer-free chapter. Thanks to your support, the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative has allocated $37 million to fund 66 clinical trials across Florida – offering real hope to children like Logan.

Ben Amador began his battle with DIPG, an aggressive and inoperable brain tumor, in 2019 at the tender age of 6-years-old. At a time that felt impossible, we stood by the Amador family’s side every step of the way.

Thanks to your support, Live Like Bella was able to help Ben and his family through our multiple lines of service.

First, providing financial support while he was in treatment, then helping improve his quality of life through his enrollment in a research trial funded through the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Initiative. Lastly, we provided memorial support at the time of his passing.

Today, we continue to work tirelessly in Ben’s honor and for the countless children still battling cancer who are counting on our support.
