In our quest to make cancer a curable and treatable disease, the state of Florida created The Live Like Bella® Initiative which grants $5 million dollars to fund research exclusively for childhood cancer under the leadership of Senate President Pro Team Anitere Flores.
The first of its kind in the country, The Live Like Bella® Initiative shows Florida’s commitment to being a leader in advancing progress toward curing the number one disease killer of children.
Race for Children Act
Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children and yet children do not have the same number of treatment options as adults. The RACE act will help ensure that those options are available for children and families.
Legislation
United States Senator Marco Rubio and his colleagues in the Senate passed the Research to Accelerate Cures and Equity (RACE) for Children Act as part of the FDA user fees reauthorization bill.
The Live Like Bella® Foundation is humbled to have a voice in Washington to advocate for children battling cancer – a mission we are relentlessly committed to. The RACE for Children Act is an important measure that will provide children battling cancer with more promising treatment options.
